November 11,2006 last MDR race for the season, we come to the race with the lead in overall points for class 7. Shawn took the drivers seat for this race with TJ Baker navigating him. We started out running a good clean pace. About mid race we did are normal pit for fuel and inspect the truck for any problems and we had a tire that was leaking slowly so they changed it real quick. At that point the three out of the five competitors were out of the race, so it was us and Barry who was 2nd in points and 2nd in the race at this point. We kept moving and after lap 5 of 6 we started to lose our brakes, so we pulled over to see what was wrong and there was a leaky brake fitting. Barry passed us, but we were not to worried because all we had to do was finish one position behind to take the class points. We called to pit and told them to meet us at mile 11. At that spot we clamped the brake line off so we could have pressure back and finish the race. After we took off from there within 2 miles the truck felt loose and the next thing we had no control of the truck and it veered left real hard and ended up popping the bead, which made the truck roll. We jumped out and did not know what broke until we found the steering rod from the pitman arm to the swinger had broke. We ended up DNFn the race and took 2nd in class 7 for the year.
